Silver Iron Micro Bacteria

Silver Iron Micro Bacteria® technology is built-in to a product during the manufacturing process and becomes an intrinsic part of the product inside and at the surface. When microbes, such as bacteria, mold and mildew that can cause stains, odors and product deterioration come in contact with the product surface, Silver Iron Micro Bacteria® protection penetrates the cell wall of the microbe and disrupts key cell functions so that the microbe cannot function, grow or reproduce.

Natural Beauty

Silestone® has an elegance and beauty only comparable with the prettiest natural stones such as quartz or diamond.

Natural quartz of Silestone gives a distinguished density, shine and brilliant sparkles. Something that only some natural stones have.

Color

Silestone® is suitable in 50 colours.

It is very difficult not to find the appropiate color for any style or texture.

Not satisfied with that, Cosentino increases the Silestone®  color range every year.

Stain resistance

Silestone® is a non-porous surface and very resistant to stains of coffee, wine, lemon juice, olive oil, vinegar, make-up and lot of products of daily use.

Versatility

Silestone® can be used for any in-door surface, even kitchen and bathroom worktops, stairs, panels, baths and around baths, floors, walls, bars, tables and desks...

Scratch Resistance

There are only three natural stones (diamond, sapphire and topaz) harder than quartz. This makes that Silestone is high resistant to scratches.

Taking in consideration the Mohs hardness scale, the position of the quartz is 7 (diamond is 10). Therefore, using the same knife in different surfaces, Silestone will not be scratched easily.

Silestone® is high resistant to scratches, however it is recommended not to abuse its characteristics.

Shock resistance

Silestone® has great shock resistance, in most cases considerably higher than of other products used for similar applications (granite, solid surfaces, etc) which guarantees safety in the kitchen when handling very hard objects (pans, trays, etc).

This resistance is achieved thanks to its quartz (which gives it its hardness ) and poliéster resin (elasticity) and the vibrocompression system used during the production process.
